অতঃপর তাদের সম্পর্কে সে মনে মনে ভীত হলঃ তারা বললঃ ভীত হবেন না। তারা তাঁকে একট জ্ঞানীগুণী পুত্র সন্তানের সুসংবাদ দিল।
Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: ”Fear not.” And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allâh and His religion of True Monotheism).
فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَامٍ عَلِيمٍ
Faawjasa minhum kheefatan qaloo la takhaf wabashsharoohu bighulamin AAaleemin
YUSUFALI: (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, “Fear not,” and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge.
PICKTHAL: Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son.
SHAKIR: So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge.
KHALIFA: He harbored fear of them. They said, “Have no fear,” and they gave good news of a knowledgeable son.
২৭। এবং তা তাদের সামনে রেখে বলেছিলো, ” তোমরা কি আহার করবে না ?”
২৮। [ যখন তারা আহার করলো না ], তখন তাদের সর্ম্পকে ইব্রাহীমের মনে ভয়ের সঞ্চার হলো। তারা বলেছিলো,” ভয় পেয়ো না ” এবং তারা তাকে এক জ্ঞানী পুত্রের সুসংবাদ দিল।
২৯। তখন তার স্ত্রী উচ্চস্বরে [ হাসতে হাসতে ] এগিয়ে এলো ৫০০৯; এবং কপালে করাঘাত করতে করতে বলতে লাগলো, ” আমি তো এক বন্ধ্যা বৃদ্ধা !”
৫০০৯। হযরত ইব্রাহীমের স্ত্রী সারা ছিলেন বৃদ্ধা এবং বন্ধ্যা। এই শুভ সংবাদ বিশ্বাস করা তাঁর পক্ষে ছিলো সত্যিই কঠিন। যার ফলে তিনি আশ্চর্যান্বিত ও বিস্মিত হয়ে পড়লেন এবং নিজের অক্ষমতা ও নিরাশা জ্ঞাপনার্থে কপাল চাপড়িয়ে বললেন, ” বৃদ্ধা মহিলার সন্তান হবে ? তা কি সম্ভব ?” [ ১১ : ৭১ -৭২ ]
