এরপর আমি আপনাকে রেখেছি ধর্মের এক বিশেষ শরীয়তের উপর। অতএব, আপনি এর অনুসরণ করুন এবং অজ্ঞানদের খেয়াল-খুশীর অনুসরণ করবেন না।
Then We have put you (O Muhammad SAW) on a plain way of (Our) commandment [like the one which We commanded Our Messengers before you (i.e. legal ways and laws of the Islâmic Monotheism)]. So follow you that (Islâmic Monotheism and its laws), and follow not the desires of those who know not. [Tafsir At-Tabarî Vol. 25, Page 146].
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاكَ عَلَى شَرِيعَةٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْرِ فَاتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاء الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Thumma jaAAalnaka AAala shareeAAatin mina al-amri faittabiAAha wala tattabiAA ahwaa allatheena la yaAAlamoona
YUSUFALI: Then We put thee on the (right) Way of Religion: so follow thou that (Way), and follow not the desires of those who know not.
PICKTHAL: And now have We set thee (O Muhammad) on a clear road of (Our) commandment; so follow it, and follow not the whims of those who know not.
SHAKIR: Then We have made you follow a course in the affair, therefore follow it, and do not follow the low desires of those who do not know.
KHALIFA: We then appointed you to establish the correct laws; you shall follow this, and do not follow the wishes of those who do not know.
১৮। অতঃপর আমি তোমাকে [ সঠিক ] ধর্মের পথে স্থাপন করেছি ৪৭৫৬। সুতারাং তুমি সেই [ পথ ]
অনুসরণ কর, এবং যারা অজ্ঞ তাদের খেয়াল খুশীর অনুসরণ করো না।
৪৭৫৬। “Shariat” বা ” দ্বীনের বিশেষ বিধান”। ইসলাম ধর্ম, বিশ্বাস ও অনুশীলন এই দুই ভিত্তির উপরে প্রতিষ্ঠিত। কিছু মৌলিক বিশ্বাস ও নৈতিক নীতিমালা এবং কর্মজীবন সম্পর্কিত বিধিবিধান রয়েছে ইসলামে। এই মৌলিক বিশ্বাস ও নৈতিক নীতিমালা প্রত্যেক নবীর উম্মতের জন্যই এক ও অভিন্ন। এতে কোনরূপ পরিবর্তন , পরিবর্ধন সম্ভবপর নয়। কিন্তু কর্মগত বিধান বিভিন্ন পয়গম্বরের শরীয়তে যুগের চাহিদা অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তিত হয়েছে। উপরোক্ত আয়াতে এস কর্মগত বিধানকেই দ্বীনের বিশেষ বিধানবলে ব্যক্ত করা হয়েছে। এই বিশেষ বিধানের অধিকাংশ অবতীর্ণ হয় মদিনায় ; যা এই মক্কার সূরার অবতীর্ণ হওয়ার অনেক পরে ঘটে।
