আর যারা কাফের হয়েছে, তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে জাহান্নামের আগুন। তাদেরকে মৃত্যুর আদেশও দেয়া হবে না যে, তারা মরে যাবে এবং তাদের থেকে তার শাস্তিও লাঘব করা হবে না। আমি প্রত্যেক অকৃতজ্ঞকে এভাবেই শাস্তি দিয়ে থাকি।
But those who disbelieve, (in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism) for them will be the Fire of Hell. Neither it will have a complete killing effect on them so that they die, nor shall its torment be lightened for them. Thus do We requite every disbeliever!

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَهُمْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يُقْضَى عَلَيْهِمْ فَيَمُوتُوا وَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُم مِّنْ عَذَابِهَا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي كُلَّ كَفُورٍ
Waallatheena kafaroo lahum naru jahannama la yuqda AAalayhim fayamootoo wala yukhaffafu AAanhum min AAathabiha kathalika najzee kulla kafoorin

YUSUFALI: But those who reject (Allah) – for them will be the Fire of Hell: No term shall be determined for them, so they should die, nor shall its Penalty be lightened for them. Thus do We reward every ungrateful one!
PICKTHAL: But as for those who disbelieve, for them is fire of hell; it taketh not complete effect upon them so that they can die, nor is its torment lightened for them. Thus We punish every ingrate.
SHAKIR: And (as for) those who disbelieve, for them is the fire of hell; it shall not be finished with them entirely so that they should die, nor shall the chastisement thereof be lightened to them: even thus do We retribute every ungrateful one.
KHALIFA: As for those who disbelieve, they have incurred the fire of Hell, where they are never finished by death, nor is the retribution ever commuted for them. We thus requite the unappreciative.

৩৬। কিন্তু যারা [আল্লাহকে ] প্রত্যাখান করে তাদের জন্য রয়েছে জাহান্নামের আগুন ৩৯২৫। তাদের জন্য কোন নির্দ্দিষ্ট সময়কাল নির্ধারিত করা হবে না যে, তারা মরবে; অথবা তাদের শাস্তি লাঘব করা হবে না। এভাবেই প্রতিটি অকৃতজ্ঞকে শাস্তি দিয়ে থাকি।

৩৯২৫। ‘জাহান্নামের আগুন’ হচ্ছে বেহেশতের বাগানের প্রতীকের ঠিক বিপরীত অবস্থা। বেহেশতের সুখ-শান্তি, আরাম-আয়েশ, এবং পরিতৃপ্তির পরিবর্তে জাহান্নামে থাকবে যন্ত্রণা , কষ্ট , উদ্বেগ, দুঃশ্চিন্তা ইত্যাদি। সম্মানের পরিবর্তে থাকবে অপমান। বেহেশতের সুখ শান্তি যেমন অসীম ও চিরস্থায়ী হবে , দোযখের যন্ত্রনাও সেরূপ একই ভাবে চলবে, কখনও প্রশমিত করা হবে না পাপীকে সম্পূর্ণ ধ্বংস করে ফেলা হবে না। কারণ সম্পূর্ণ ধ্বংস হলে জাহান্নামের যন্ত্রনা ভোগ করবে কে ?
