অথচ তারা পূর্বে আল্লাহর সাথে অঙ্গীকার করেছিল যে, তারা পৃষ্ঠ প্রদর্শন করবে না। আল্লাহর অঙ্গীকার সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞাসা করা হবে।
And indeed they had already made a covenant with Allâh not to turn their backs, and a covenant with Allâh must be answered for.
وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ الْأَدْبَارَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ اللَّهِ مَسْؤُولًا
Walaqad kanoo AAahadoo Allaha min qablu la yuwalloona al-adbara wakana AAahdu Allahi mas-oolan
YUSUFALI: And yet they had already covenanted with Allah not to turn their backs, and a covenant with Allah must (surely) be answered for.
PICKTHAL: And verily they had already sworn unto Allah that they would not turn their backs (to the foe). An oath to Allah must be answered for.
SHAKIR: And certainly they had made a covenant with Allah before, that) they would not turn (their) backs; and Allah’s covenant shall be inquired of.
KHALIFA: They had pledged to GOD in the past that they would not turn around and flee; making a pledge with GOD involves a great responsibility.
১৫। অথচ, উহারা পূর্বেই আল্লাহ্র সাথে অংগীকার করেছিলো যে, উহারা পৃষ্ঠ প্রদর্শন করবে না। আল্লাহ্র সাথে কৃত অংগীকার সম্বন্ধে অবশ্যই জিজ্ঞাসা করা হবে ৩৬৮৬।
৩৬৮৬। ওহদের যুদ্ধের সময়ে যারা যুদ্ধ ক্ষেত্র থেকে পলায়ন করেছিলো , যুদ্ধের পরে তাদের শর্ত সাপেক্ষে ক্ষমা করা হয়। তারা প্রতিজ্ঞা করে যে পরবর্তীতে তার অবশ্যই ভালো কাজ প্রদর্শন করবে। তাদের এই প্রতিজ্ঞা ছিলো আল্লাহ্র নবীর সাথে , যা আল্লাহ্র সাথে প্রতিজ্ঞার নামান্তর। এই প্রতিজ্ঞা ভঙ্গ করা শাস্তি ব্যতিরেকে অব্যহতি পাওয়া সম্ভব নয়।
