অতঃপর তার অন্তর তাকে ভ্রাতৃহত্যায় উদুদ্ধ করল। অনন্তর সে তাকে হত্যা করল। ফলে সে ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে গেল।
So the Nafs (self) of the other (latter one) encouraged him and made fairseeming to him the murder of his brother; he murdered him and became one of the losers.
فَطَوَّعَتْ لَهُ نَفْسُهُ قَتْلَ أَخِيهِ فَقَتَلَهُ فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
FatawwaAAat lahu nafsuhu qatla akheehi faqatalahu faasbaha mina alkhasireena
YUSUFALI: The (selfish) soul of the other led him to the murder of his brother: he murdered him, and became (himself) one of the lost ones.
PICKTHAL: But (the other’s) mind imposed on him the killing of his brother, so he slew him and became one of the losers.
SHAKIR: Then his mind facilitated to him the slaying of his brother so he slew him; then he became one of the losers
KHALIFA: His ego provoked him into killing his brother. He killed him, and ended up with the losers.
