য়জন্তে সাত্ত্বিকা দেবান্যক্ষরক্ষাংসি রাজসাঃ ।
প্রেতান্ভূতগণাংশ্চান্যে য়জন্তে তামসা জনাঃ ॥ ১৭-৪॥

য়জন্তে = worship
সাত্ত্বিকাঃ = those who are in the mode of goodness
দেবান্ = demigods
য়ক্ষরক্ষাংসি = demons
রাজসাঃ = those who are in the mode of passion
প্রেতান্ = spirits of the dead
ভূতগণান্ = ghosts

অন্যে = others
য়জন্তে = worship
তামসাঃ = in the mode of ignorance
জনাঃ = people.
