অপর কিতাব প্রাপ্তরা যে বিভ্রান্ত হয়েছে, তা হয়েছে তাদের কাছে সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ আসার পরেই।
And the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) differed not until after there came to them clear evidence. (i.e. Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever was revealed to him).
وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ
Wama tafarraqa allatheena ootoo alkitaba illa min baAAdi ma jaat-humu albayyinatu
YUSUFALI: Nor did the People of the Book make schisms, until after there came to them Clear Evidence.
PICKTHAL: Nor were the People of the Scripture divided until after the clear proof came unto them.
SHAKIR: And those who were given the Book did not become divided except after clear evidence had come to them.
KHALIFA: In fact, those who received the scripture did not dispute until the proof was given to them.
৪। যাদের কিতাব দেয়া হয়েছিলো, তারা তো [ ধর্মে ] বিভক্ত হলো তাদের নিকট সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ আসার পর। ৬২২৭
৬২২৭। মোশরেক আরবদের অপেক্ষা কিতাবী জাতিদের দায়িত্ব অনেক বেশী। কারণ আল্লাহ্ তাদের পূর্বাহ্নেই প্রত্যাদেশ বা কিতাবের দ্বারা সহজ সরল পথের নির্দ্দেশনা দান করেছেন এবং আদর্শ ধর্মের প্রতি আহ্বান করেছেন এবং সেই ধর্মের উপযুক্ত হওয়ার শিক্ষা দান করেছেন। কিন্তু তবুও যখন সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ এলো অর্থাৎ বিশ্বনবীর মাধ্যমে ইসলামের আবির্ভাব ঘটলো,এ সব কিতাবী জাতিরাই অধিক বাঁধার সৃষ্টি করেছিলো। এই সহজ, সরল এবং আদর্শ ধর্ম কি যা সকল অস্পষ্টতা, অসাড় আনুষ্ঠানিকতা দূর করেছিলো ? এই ধর্মের মূল বিষয়কে তিনটি মুল নীতির মাধ্যমে পরবর্তী আয়াতে উপস্থাপন করা হয়েছে যা শ্বাসত সত্য। দেখুন পরবর্তী টিকা।
