هَذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ
Hatha yawmu alfasli jamaAAnakum waal-awwaleena
YUSUFALI: That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)!
PICKTHAL: This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together.
SHAKIR: This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore.
KHALIFA: This is the Day of Decision. We have summoned you and the previous generations.
৩৮। সেদিন হবে বাছাই করার দিন। তোমাদের ও [ তোমাদের ] পূর্বে যারা ছিলো তাদের সকলকে একত্র করবো। ৫৮৮১
৫৮৮১। আয়াতটি যখন অবতীর্ণ হয়, প্রাথমিকভাবে ” তোমাদিগকে ” শব্দটি দ্বারা কোরাইশদের বুঝানো হয়েছে, যারা রাসুলের (সা) বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করেছিলো। বলা হয়েছে যে, তোমরা তোমাদের ও তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের সকল জ্ঞান ও কলাকৌশল প্রয়োগ করতে পার, কিন্তু তা সত্বেও তোমরা আল্লাহ্র পরিকল্পনা নস্যাৎ করতে পারবে না। দেখুন পরবর্তী টিকা।
