এবং পৃথিবী ও পর্বতমালা উত্তোলিত হবে ও চুর্ণ-বিচুর্ণ করে দেয়া হবে,
And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing,
وَحُمِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَاحِدَةً
Wahumilati al-ardu waaljibalu fadukkata dakkatan wahidatan
YUSUFALI: And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,-
PICKTHAL: And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash,
SHAKIR: And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing.
KHALIFA: The earth and the mountains will be carried off and crushed; utterly crushed.
১৪। এবং পৃথিবী আন্দোলিত হবে, এবং এর উপরের পর্বতসমূহ ৫৬৪৯ এক ধাক্কাতে চূর্ণবিচূর্ণ হবে,
৫৬৪৯। এই আয়াত ও পরবর্তী আয়াত সমূহে সেই অবশ্যাম্ভবী ঘটনা বা কেয়ামতের উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে, যেদিন এই চেনা পৃথিবী আমাদের সম্মুখ থেকে অদৃশ্য হয়ে যাবে এবং নূতন পৃথিবীর সৃষ্টি হবে। পর্বতের উল্লেখ বিশেষ ভাবে এই আয়াতে করা হয়েছে, কারণ পর্বত হচ্ছে কাঠিন্যের, বিশালত্বের ও স্থায়ীত্বের প্রতীক স্বরূপ। সেই পবর্তও সেদিন ধূলার ন্যায় হয়ে যাবে চূর্ণবিচূর্ণ” অর্থাৎ পর্বত তার আকৃতি বা গঠন হারাবে সেই ভয়াবহ ধাক্কায়।
