আল্লাহ সপ্তাকাশ সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং পৃথিবীও সেই পরিমাণে, এসবের মধ্যে তাঁর আদেশ অবতীর্ণ হয়, যাতে তোমরা জানতে পার যে, আল্লাহ সর্বশক্তিমান এবং সবকিছু তাঁর গোচরীভূত।
It is Allâh Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof (i.e. seven). His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that you may know that Allâh has power over all things, and that Allâh surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge.

YUSUFALI: Allah is He Who created seven Firmaments and of the earth a similar number. Through the midst of them (all) descends His Command: that ye may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah comprehends, all things in (His) Knowledge.
PICKTHAL: Allah it is who hath created seven heavens, and of the earth the like thereof. The commandment cometh down among them slowly, that ye may know that Allah is Able to do all things, and that Allah surroundeth all things in knowledge.

১২। তিনিই আল্লাহ্ যিনি সপ্ত আকাশ ৫৫২৬ ও উহাদের তুল্য পৃথিবী সৃষ্টি করেছেন ৫৫২৭। উহাদের মধ্য দিয়ে তার [ সকল ] নির্দ্দেশ নেমে আসে ৫৫২৮। তোমরা যেনো বুঝতে পার সকল কিছুর উপরে আল্লাহ্ ক্ষমতাবান। এবং জ্ঞানে আল্লাহ্ সব কিছুকে পরিবেষ্টন করে আছেন।
৫৫২৬। “সপ্ত আকাশ ” – আক্ষরিক অর্থে বোঝানো হয় আমাদের উর্দ্ধ আকাশের স্তর যা গ্রহ নক্ষত্রকে ধারণ করে। অনুরূপ আয়াতের জন্য দেখুন সূরা [ ২৩ : ১৭ ] আয়াত ও টিকা ২৮৭৬ এবং সূরা [ ৩৭ : ৬ ] আয়াতের টিকা ৪০৩৫ – ৩৬ ] প্রকৃত পক্ষে সপ্ত আকাশের ধারণা করা পৃথিবীর মানুষের পক্ষে অসম্ভব। মানুষ মহাশূন্যে হাবেল টেলিস্কোপ স্থাপন করে ও স্পেসশীপ প্রেরণ করে মহাকাশের সন্ধান লাভ করতে ব্যস্ত। এর ফলেই মানুষ বর্তমানে ধারণা করতে সক্ষম হয়েছে যে মহাকাশ সম্বন্ধে তার জ্ঞান কত অকিঞ্চিতকর। এই জ্ঞানের ক্ষেত্রে তার অবস্থান মহাসমুদ্রের বেলাভূমিতে দাড়িয়ে নূড়ি কুড়ানোর সম। ‘সাত’ সংখ্যাটি এখানে অতিন্দ্রীয় এক প্রতীক গুপ্ত সংখ্যা, যার দ্বারা বিশালত্বের ধারণা দেয়া হয়েছে আবার একই সাথে এমন একটি সংখ্যাকে নির্দ্দেশ করা হয়েছে যা একটি সর্বোচ্চ পূর্ণ একক সংখ্যা এবং অবিভাজ্য।
৫৫২৭। এই আয়াতটির পরিপূর্ণ ব্যাখ্যা করা তখনই সম্ভব হবে যখন মানুষের বিজ্ঞানের জ্ঞানের পরিধি আরও ব্যাপ্তি লাভে সক্ষম হবে। আক্ষরিক অর্থে এর অর্থ হচ্ছে আকাশ ভৌগোলিক দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে পৃথিবীর উপরিভাগও অনুরূপ স্তরে বিন্যস্ত।
৫৫২৮। “উহাদের মধ্যে দিয়ে নেমে আসে তাঁর নির্দ্দেশ” – অর্থাৎ আকাশ ও পৃথিবীতে এবং জীবনের প্রতিটি ক্ষেত্রে আল্লাহ্র আইন কার্যকর। আল্লাহ্র জ্ঞান ও প্রজ্ঞা সকল কিছুকে বেষ্টন করে থাকে।
