এটা এ কারণে যে, তাদের কাছে তাদের রসূলগণ প্রকাশ্য নিদর্শনাবলীসহ আগমন করলে তারা বলতঃ মানুষই কি আমাদেরকে পথপ্রদর্শন করবে? অতঃপর তারা কাফের হয়ে গেল এবং মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিল। এতে আল্লাহর কিছু আসে যায় না। আল্লাহ অমুখাপেক্ষী প্রশংসিত।
That was because there came to them their Messengers with clear proofs (signs), but they said: ”Shall mere men guide us?” So they disbelieved and turned away (from the truth), and Allâh was not in need (of them). And Allâh is Rich (Free of all wants), Worthy of all praise.
ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُ كَانَت تَّأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرٌ يَهْدُونَنَا فَكَفَرُوا وَتَوَلَّوا وَّاسْتَغْنَى اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ
Thalika bi-annahu kanat ta/teehim rusuluhum bialbayyinati faqaloo abasharun yahdoonana fakafaroo watawallaw waistaghna Allahu waAllahu ghaniyyun hameedun
YUSUFALI: That was because there came to them messengers with Clear Signs, but they said: “Shall (mere) human beings direct us?” So they rejected (the Message) and turned away. But Allah can do without (them): and Allah is free of all needs, worthy of all praise.
PICKTHAL: That was because their messengers (from Allah) kept coming unto them with clear proofs (of Allah’s Sovereignty), but they said: Shall mere mortals guide us? So they disbelieved and turned away, and Allah was independent (of them). Allah is Absolute, Owner of Praise.
SHAKIR: That is because there came to them their messengers with clear arguments, but they said: Shall mortals guide us? So they disbelieved and turned back, and Allah does not stand in need (of anything), and Allah is Self-sufficient, Praised.
KHALIFA: This is because their messengers went to them with clear proofs, but they said, “Shall we follow humans like us?” They disbelieved and turned away. GOD does not need them; GOD is in no need, Praiseworthy.
৬। এর কারণ হচ্ছে; তাদের নিকট সুস্পষ্ট নিদর্শনসহ রসুল এসেছিলো ; কিন্তু তারা বলেছিলো, ” [ শুধু মাত্র] মানুষই আমাদের পরিচালিত করবে ৫৪৮৫ ? ” সুতারাং তারা [ উপদেশ বাণী ] প্রত্যাখান করে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিল। কিন্তু আল্লাহ্ [ তাদের ] ছাড়াও চলতে পারেন। এবং আল্লাহ্ সকল অভাবমুক্ত ৫৪৮৬, সকল প্রশংসার যোগ্য।
৫৪৮৫। এই ঘটনার বিষদ বিবরণ আছে [ ১৪ : ৯- ১১ ] আয়াতে।
৫৪৮৬। মানুষকে আল্লাহ্ সঠিক পথের সন্ধান দান করেছেন যুগে যুগে। যে আল্লাহ্র আনুগত্য করে সে নিজের জন্যই করে। আল্লাহ্র কারও আনুগত্য প্রয়োজন নাই। তিনি অভাবমুক্ত। সত্যকে প্রত্যাখান দ্বারা সত্যের বৈধতা নষ্ট হয়ে যায় না বা সত্যের অগ্রগতিকে প্রতিহত করা সম্ভব হয় না। মানুষের এই ক্ষুদ্র প্রতিরোধ বা প্রত্যাখান সত্যের অগ্রযাত্রাতে কোনও প্রতিবন্ধকতাই সৃষ্টি করতে পারে না, আল্লাহ্ অভাবমুক্ত, তিনি কারও উপরে নির্ভরশীল নন। তিনি শুধুমাত্র মানুষের মঙ্গলের জন্য তাঁর সত্যকে প্রেরণ করে থাকেন। যে গ্রহণ করে সে ধন্য, যে প্রত্যাখান, প্রতিরোধ এবং অবজ্ঞা করে সে কষ্ট পায়।
