আপনি কি তাদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য করেননি, যারা আল্লাহর গযবে নিপতিত সম্প্রদায়ের সাথে বন্ধুত্ব করে? তারা মুসলমানদের দলভুক্ত নয় এবং তাদেরও দলভূক্ত নয়। তারা জেনেশুনে মিথ্যা বিষয়ে শপথ করে।
Have you (O Muhammad SAW) not seen those (hypocrites) who take for friends a people upon whom is the Wrath of Allâh (i.e. Jews)? They are neither of you (Muslims) nor of them (Jews), and they swear to a lie while they know.
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا قَوْمًا غَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مَّا هُم مِّنكُمْ وَلَا مِنْهُمْ وَيَحْلِفُونَ عَلَى الْكَذِبِ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
Alam tara ila allatheena tawallaw qawman ghadiba Allahu AAalayhim ma hum minkum wala minhum wayahlifoona AAala alkathibi wahum yaAAlamoona
YUSUFALI: Turnest thou not thy attention to those who turn (in friendship) to such as have the Wrath of Allah upon them? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear to falsehood knowingly.
PICKTHAL: Hast thou not seen those who take for friends a folk with whom Allah is wroth? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear a false oath knowingly.
SHAKIR: Have you not seen those who befriend a people with whom Allah is wroth? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear falsely while they know.
KHALIFA: Have you noted those who befriended people with whom GOD is angry? They neither belong with you, nor with them. They deliberately swear lies!

১৪। তুমি কি তাদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য কর নাই ৫৩৫৪, যারা, আল্লাহ্ যে সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতি রুষ্ট, তাদের সাথে বন্ধুত্ব করে ৫৩৫৫ ? তারা তোমাদের দলভূক্ত নয়, তাদেরও দলভূক্ত নয়, এবং তারা জেনে বুঝে মিথ্যা শপথ করে ৫৩৫৬।
৫৩৫৪। এই আয়াতে যাদের উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে তারা মদিনার মোনাফেক শ্রেণী। তারা ভাণ করতো যে তারা ইসলাম গ্রহণ করেছে, কিন্তু প্রকৃত সত্য হচ্ছে তারা মুসলমান অপেক্ষা ইহুদীদের সাথে বেশী একাত্মতা বোধ করতো। দেখুন টিকা ৫৩৪২।
৫৩৫৫। এই আয়াতটি যখন অবতীর্ণ হয়, সে সময়ে মদিনার ইহুদীরা এবং পার্শ্ববর্তীস্থানের ইহুদীরা ইসলামের বিরুদ্ধে চরম শত্রুতাপূর্ণ আচরণ করতো। সে সময়ে তাদের বিশ্বাসঘাতকতার জন্য তাদের জবাবদিহিতার জন্য ডাকা হয়।
৫৩৫৬। এসব মোনাফেকরা খুব ভালোভাবেই জানতো যে মুসলমান হিসেবে তাদের দায়িত্ব ও কর্তব্য হচেছ মুসলমানদের বা ইসলামের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র থেকে বিরত থাকা এবং ইসলামের প্রচার ও প্রসারে সাহায্য করা, এ সত্য জানার পরেও তারা বিরুদ্ধাচারণ করে।
