আমি তাদেরকে যে নিদর্শনই দেখাতাম, তাই হত পূর্ববর্তী নিদর্শন অপেক্ষা বৃহৎ এবং আমি তাদেরকে শাস্তি দ্বারা পাকড়াও করলাম, যাতে তারা ফিরে আসে।
And not an Ayâh (sign, etc.) We showed them but it was greater than its fellow, and We seized them with torment, in order that they might turn [from their polytheism to Allâh’s Religion (Islâmic Monotheism)].
وَمَا نُرِيهِم مِّنْ آيَةٍ إِلَّا هِيَ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ أُخْتِهَا وَأَخَذْنَاهُم بِالْعَذَابِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
Wama nureehim min ayatin illa hiya akbaru min okhtiha waakhathnahum bialAAathabi laAAallahum yarjiAAoona
YUSUFALI: We showed them Sign after Sign, each greater than its fellow, and We seized them with Punishment, in order that they might turn (to Us).
PICKTHAL: And every token that We showed them was greater than its sister (token), and We grasped them with the torment, that haply they might turn again.
SHAKIR: And We did not show them a sign but it was greater than its like, and We overtook them with chastisement that they may turn.
KHALIFA: Every sign we showed them was bigger than the one before it. We afflicted them with the plagues, perhaps they repent.
৪৮। আমি তাদের নিদর্শনের পর নিদর্শন দেখিয়েছিলাম ৪৬৫১ যার প্রত্যেকটি ইহার পূর্ববর্তীদের অপেক্ষা শ্রেষ্ঠ ছিলো ; এবং আমি তাদের শাস্তি দ্বারা গ্রেফতার করলাম , যেনো তারা [ আমার ] দিকে ফিরে আসে।
৪৬৫১। দেখুন [ ৭ : ১৩৩ ] আয়াতের টিকা ১০৯১ এবং আয়াত [ ১৭ : ১০১ ]। যেখানে মুসার নয়টি নিদর্শনের উল্লেখ আছে। নয়টি নিদর্শনের প্রতিটি নিদর্শন একটা থেকে অন্যটি শ্রেষ্ঠ, প্রতিটি নিদর্শনই অনন্য। এ সব নিদর্শন প্রদর্শন করার উদ্দেশ্য হচ্ছে মিশরবাসীদের ফেরাউনের এবাদত থেকে বিমুখ করে আল্লাহ্র এবাদতের প্রতি তাদের মনোযোগ আকর্ষণ করা এবং আল্লাহ্র প্রতি প্রত্যাবর্তন করে।
