অতঃপর আল্লাহ তাদেরকে পার্থিব জীবনে লাঞ্ছনার স্বাদ আস্বাদন করালেন, আর পরকালের আযাব হবে আরও গুরুতর, যদি তারা জানত!
So Allah gave them a taste of humiliation in the present life, but greater is the punishment of the Hereafter, if they only knew!
فَأَذَاقَهُمُ اللَّهُ الْخِزْيَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
Faathaqahumu Allahu alkhizya fee alhayati alddunya walaAAathabu al-akhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoona
YUSUFALI: So Allah gave them a taste of humiliation in the present life, but greater is the punishment of the Hereafter, if they only knew!
PICKTHAL: Thus Allah made them taste humiliation in the life of the world, and verily the doom of the Hereafter will be greater if they did but know.
SHAKIR: So Allah made them taste the disgrace in this world’s life, and certainly the punishment of the hereafter is greater; did they but know!
KHALIFA: GOD has condemned them to humiliation in this life, and the retribution in the Hereafter will be far worse, if they only knew.
২৬। সুতারাং পার্থিব জীবনে আল্লাহ্ তাদের লাঞ্ছনা আস্বাদন করিয়েছিলেন ৪২৮৩, কিন্তু পরকালের শাস্তি তো আরও ভীষণ, যদি তারা তা জানতো।
৪২৮৩। দেখুন আয়াত [ ২ : ১১৪] পাপ কাজ কখনই জীবনে সুখ ও সমৃদ্ধি আনতে পারে না। পাপের শেষ পরিণতি সর্বদাই লাঞ্ছনা ও অপমানের মাধ্যমে শেষ হয়। কিন্তু পাপের সর্বশেষ পরিণতি অপেক্ষা করে থাকে পরকালে। কিন্তু যারা পরকালে অবিশ্বাসী তারা পরকালের জীবনের দুঃখ দুর্দ্দশা ও লাঞ্ছনার সংবাদ পার্থিব জীবনে বিশ্বাস করে না। এর মাঝে যদি কেহ পাপের দ্বারা পৃথিবীতে অগাধ বিত্ত ও ঐশ্বর্য অর্জনে সক্ষম হয়, তবে সে ধারণা করে তার বুদ্ধিমত্তা দ্বারা পরকালের পরিণতিকেও ইহাকালের ন্যায় অতিক্রম করতে পারবে। আর যদিও সে পাপের পরিণতিতে পৃথিবীতে দুঃখ কষ্ট ভোগ করে , তবে তার ধারণা জন্মে যে, তার পাপক্ষয় হয়ে গেলো ,তাকে পরলোকে আর শাস্তি ভোগ করতে হবে না। এই উভয়বিধ ধারণাই হচ্ছে ভ্রান্ত ধারণা।
