إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا الْأُولَى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
Illa mawtatana al-oola wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena
YUSUFALI: “Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?”
PICKTHAL: Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished?
SHAKIR: Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised?
KHALIFA: “only the first death, and we never receive any requital?”
৫৮।” এটা কি ঠিক আমরা আর মরবো না –

৪০৭০। যে ভয়াবহ বিপদ থেকে সে অল্পের জন্য রক্ষা পেয়েছে এই অনুভব তাঁকে এতটাই আপ্লুত করবে যে সে বিশ্বাস-ই করতে চাইবে না – আনন্দে আত্মহারা পড়বে ; সত্যিই কি সে বিপদমুক্ত ? পুণরায় মৃত্যুর দ্বার কি সত্যিই তার জন্য বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে ? সত্যিই কি সে পাপের প্রলোভন থেকে মুক্ত, শাস্তির ভয় তিরোহিত ?
