কোন জনপদে সতর্ককারী প্রেরণ করা হলেই তার বিত্তশালী অধিবাসীরা বলতে শুরু করেছে, তোমরা যে বিষয়সহ প্রেরিত হয়েছ, আমরা তা মানি না।
And We did not send a warner to a township, but those who were given the worldly wealth and luxuries among them said: ”We believe not in the (Message) with which you have been sent.”
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَا إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ كَافِرُونَ
Wama arsalna fee qaryatin min natheerin illa qala mutrafooha inna bima orsiltum bihi kafiroona
YUSUFALI: Never did We send a warner to a population, but the wealthy ones among them said: “We believe not in the (Message) with which ye have been sent.”
PICKTHAL: And We sent not unto any township a warner, but its pampered ones declared: Lo! we are disbelievers in that wherewith ye have been sent.
SHAKIR: And We never sent a warner to a town but those who led lives in ease in it said: We are surely disbelievers in what you are sent with.
KHALIFA: Every time we sent a warner to a community, the leaders of that community said, “We reject the message you are sent with.”
৩৪। আর আমি যখনই কোন স্থানে সর্তককারীদের প্রেরণ করেছি, উহার ধনী অধিবাসীরা বলেছে, ” তোমাদের যে বার্তাসহ প্রেরণ করা হয়েছে আমরা তাতে বিশ্বাস করি না।” ৩৮৪১
৩৮৪১। যুগে যুগে যখনই আল্লাহ্র বাণী মানুষকে সত্য পথে আহ্বান করেছে – একদল তার বিরোধিতা করে থাকে। তারা তা করে কারণ আল্লাহ্র বাণী তাদের কায়েমী স্বার্থে আঘাত হানে , তারা তাদের কায়েমী স্বার্থকে রক্ষা করার জন্য আল্লাহ্র বিধানের বিরোধিতা করে থাকে। পার্থিব ক্ষমতা, তাদের উদ্ধত অহংকারী করে তোলে। নিজেকে শ্রেষ্ঠ ভাবার প্রবণতার জন্ম দেয়। অহংকার বোধ ও জাগতিক সুখ-সম্পদ, আরাম-আয়েশ তাদের সত্যকে ধারণ করার ক্ষমতাকে নষ্ট করে দেয়। প্রকৃত সত্য ও ন্যায়কে তারা বুঝতে অক্ষম হয়ে পড়ে। সুতারাং তারা আল্লাহ্র বাণী – যা প্রকৃত জীবন বিধান তা অস্বীকার করে থাকে। কারণ তা তাদের কয়েমী স্বার্থের বিরুদ্ধে চলে যায়।
