আর এ জন্য যে, তাদের কৃতকর্মের জন্যে তাদের কোন বিপদ হলে তারা বলত, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, তুমি আমাদের কাছে কোন রসূল প্রেরণ করলে না কেন? করলে আমরা তোমার আয়াতসমূহের অনুসরণ করতাম এবং আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপনকারী হয়ে যেতাম।
And if (We had) not (sent you to the people of Makkah) in case a calamity should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they should have said: ”Our Lord! Why did You not send us a Messenger? We should then have followed Your Ayât (Verses of the Qur’ân) and should have been among the believers.”
وَلَوْلَا أَن تُصِيبَهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُوا رَبَّنَا لَوْلَا أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولًا فَنَتَّبِعَ آيَاتِكَ وَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Walawla an tuseebahum museebatun bima qaddamat aydeehim fayaqooloo rabbana lawla arsalta ilayna rasoolan fanattabiAAa ayatika wanakoona mina almu/mineena
YUSUFALI: If (We had) not (sent thee to the Quraish),- in case a calamity should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they might say: “Our Lord! why didst Thou not sent us a messenger? We should then have followed Thy Signs and been amongst those who believe!”
PICKTHAL: Otherwise, if disaster should afflict them because of that which their own hands have sent before (them), they might say: Our Lord! Why sentest Thou no messenger unto us, that we might have followed Thy revelations and been of the believers?
SHAKIR: And were it not that there should befall them a disaster for what their hands have sent before, then they should say: Our Lord! why didst Thou not send to us a messenger so that we should have followed Thy communications and been of the believers !
KHALIFA: Thus, they cannot say, when a disaster strikes them as a consequence of their own deeds, “Our Lord, had You sent a messenger to us, we would have followed Your revelations, and would have been believers.”
৪৭। [ যদি আমি তোমাকে কুরাইশদের নিকট প্রেরণ না করতাম ], তাহলে তাদের কৃতকর্মের জন্য তাদের কোন বিপদ ঘটলে তারা বলতো, ” হে আমাদের প্রভু ! কেন তুমি আমাদের নিকট কোন রাসুল প্রেরণ করলে না ? করলে আমরা তোমার নিদর্শন সমূহ মেনে চলতাম এবং যারা ঈমান এনেছে তাদের অন্তর্ভূক্ত হতাম। ” ৩৩৮০
৩৩৮০। ‘কৃতকার্য’ অর্থাৎ মানুষ যা করে। “কৃতকার্যের জন্য তাদের কোন বিপদ হলে ” – অর্থাৎ যে কোনও বিপদ ও বিপর্যয় মানুষেরই কৃত কর্মের ফল। কারণ মানুষের কর্ম দ্বারাই আল্লাহ্র হুকুম নিয়ন্ত্রিত হয়। যখন আমাদের নবীর আগমন ঘটলো ,যিনি পূর্ববর্তী সকল রসুলদের জ্ঞানের অধিকারী ছিলেন, যা তিনি লাভ করেছিলো স্বর্গীয় প্রত্যাদেশের মাধ্যমে, তাঁকে অস্বীকার করার কোন যুক্তিযুক্ত কারণ ছিলো না। রসুলের [ সা] আগমনের পরে কারও এ কথা বলার কোনও সুযোগ থাকবে না , যে, ” তুমি আমাদের নিকট কোন রাসুল প্রেরণ করলে না কেন? ” তাদের পাপের দরুণ, তাদের কৃতকর্মের দরুণ যদি কোন বিপর্যয় তাদের উপরে নিপতিত হয়, তবে তারা আল্লাহ্কে দোষারোপ করতে পারবে না যে, তাদের পূর্বেই সর্তক করে দেয়া হয় নাই কেন।
