আমি যখন মূসাকে আওয়াজ দিয়েছিলাম, তখন আপনি তুর পর্বতের পার্শ্বে ছিলেন না। কিন্তু এটা আপনার পালনকর্তার রহমত স্বরূপ, যাতে আপনি এমন এক সম্প্রদায়কে ভীতি প্রদর্শন করেন, যাদের কাছে আপনার পূর্বে কোন ভীতি প্রদর্শনকারী আগমন করেনি, যাতে তারা স্মরণ রাখে।
And you (O Muhammad SAW) were not at the side of the Tûr (Mount) when We did call, [it is said that Allâh called the followers of Muhammad SAW , and they answered His Call, or that Allâh called Mûsa (Moses)]. But (you are sent) as a mercy from your Lord, to give warning to a people to whom no warner had come before you, in order that they may remember or receive admonition. [Tafsir At-Tabarî, Vol. 20, Page 81].
وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ الطُّورِ إِذْ نَادَيْنَا وَلَكِن رَّحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّا أَتَاهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
Wama kunta bijanibi alttoori ith nadayna walakin rahmatan min rabbika litunthira qawman ma atahum min natheerin min qablika laAAallahum yatathakkaroona
YUSUFALI: Nor wast thou at the side of (the Mountain of) Tur when we called (to Moses). Yet (art thou sent) as Mercy from thy Lord, to give warning to a people to whom no warner had come before thee: in order that they may receive admonition.
PICKTHAL: And thou was not beside the Mount when We did call; but (the knowledge of it is) a mercy from thy Lord that thou mayst warn a folk unto whom no warner came before thee, that haply they may give heed.
SHAKIR: And you were not on this side of the mountain when We called, but a mercy from your Lord that you may warn a people to whom no warner came before you, that they may be mindful.
KHALIFA: Nor were you on the slope of Mount Sinai when we called (Moses). But it is mercy from your Lord, (towards the people,) in order to warn people who received no warner before you, that they may take heed.
৪৬। মুসাকে যখন আমি আহ্বান করেছিলাম, তখন তুমি তূর পর্বত পার্শ্বে ছিলে না। তথাপি ইহা তোমার প্রভুর নিকট থেকে দয়াস্বরূপ [ প্রেরণ করা হয়েছে ], যাতে তুমি এমন এক সম্প্রদায়কে সর্তক করতে পার; যাদের নিকট তোমার পূর্বে কোন সতর্ককারী আসে নাই ৩৩৭৯। [এ জন্য ] যেনো তারা উপদেশ গ্রহণ করে।
৩৩৭৯। এই সম্প্রদায় হচ্ছে কোরেশ সম্প্রদায়। এখানে বক্তব্য : আল্লাহ্ রাসুলকে [ সা ] সম্বোধন করে বলছেন, “যদিও তুমি প্রত্যক্ষ কর নাই যে, কিভাবে মুসাকে তূর পর্বতে নবুয়ত দান করা হয়েছিলো , কিন্তু তোমাকেও আমরা সেই অনুরূপ অভিজ্ঞতায় ধন্য করেছি। তোমাকে প্রেরণ করা হয়েছে কোরেশ সম্প্রদায়ের মাঝে, তাদের সর্তক করতে , তারা যেনো পাপ পরিহার করে এবং অনুতাপের মাধ্যমে এক আল্লাহ্র প্রতি ঈমান আনে।
