তারা কি দেখে না যে, আমি রাত্রি সৃষ্টি করেছি তাদের বিশ্রামের জন্যে এবং দিনকে করেছি আলোকময়। নিশ্চয় এতে ঈমানদার সম্প্রদায়ের জন্যে নিদর্শনাবলী রয়েছে।
See they not that We have made the night for them to rest therein, and the day sight-giving? Verily, in this are Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) for the people who believe.

أَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا جَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِيَسْكُنُوا فِيهِ وَالنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Alam yaraw anna jaAAalna allayla liyaskunoo feehi waalnnahara mubsiran inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yu/minoona

YUSUFALI: See they not that We have made the Night for them to rest in and the Day to give them light? Verily in this are Signs for any people that believe!
PICKTHAL: Have they not seen how We have appointed the night that they may rest therein, and the day sight-giving? Lo! therein verily are portents for a people who believe.
SHAKIR: Do they not consider that We have made the night that. they may rest therein, and the day to give light? Most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe.
KHALIFA: Have they not seen that we made the night for their rest, and the day lighted? These should be sufficient proofs for people who believe.

৮৬। তারা দেখে না যে, আমি রাত্রিকে সৃষ্টি করেছি তাদের বিশ্রামের জন্য এবং দিনকে করেছি আলোকময় ? ৩৩১৬ নিশ্চয়ই এতে যে কোন বিশ্বাসী সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য রয়েছে নিদর্শন।

৩৩১৬। রাত্রি ও দিন , বিশ্রাম এবং আলো এই আয়াতের এই শব্দগুলির আক্ষরিক অর্থের সাথে প্রতীকধর্মী অর্থ বিদ্যমান। দিবসের কর্ম ক্লান্তির পরে রাত্রি আসে বিশ্রামের জন্য। যে রাত্রিতে সুপ্তির কোলে বিশ্রাম নেয়, পরদিন সে নব উদ্যমে তার কর্ম শুরু করতে পারে। কিন্তু তা না করে যে, সারাটা রাত্রি পাপের অজ্ঞতায় নিমজ্জিত হয়। দিবস তার জন্য কিসের বারতা আনবে? সে তো অভিশপ্ত। আবার দিন হচ্ছে কর্মচাঞ্চল্যের প্রতীক। আল্লাহ্‌র নেয়ামত ও অনুগ্রহ অন্বেষণের জন্য দিবসকে করা হয়েছে আলোকময়। যে তা না করে সে আল্লাহ্‌র নেয়ামতের প্রতি অকৃতজ্ঞ। প্রতীক অর্থে কার্যের মাধ্যমে সত্য ও ন্যায়ের সাধনার জন্য দিবসের সৃষ্টি। প্রতিদিনের জীবনে সৎ পথে , আল্লাহ্‌ নির্দ্দেশিত পথে, পৃথিবীর কর্মকান্ড যে পরিচালনা করতে পারে, সেই তো করতে পারে দিবালোকের সদ্ব্যবহার। কর্মচঞ্চল দিনের শেষে যখন রাত্রি নেমে আসে তখন সকল কর্মচাঞ্চল্যের সমাপ্তি ঘটে। ঠিক সেরূপ জীবনের শেষে আর অনুতাপের অবকাশ পাওয়া যাবে না। সত্যের সাধনার জন্য দিনের আলো শেষ হয়ে যাবে।
