এবং মাদইয়ানের অধিবাসীরা এবং মিথ্যাবাদী বলা হয়েছিল মূসাকেও। অতঃপর আমি কাফেরদেরকে সুযোগ দিয়েছিলাম এরপর তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করেছিলাম অতএব কি ভীষণ ছিল আমাকে অস্বীকৃতির পরিণাম।
And the dwellers of Madyan (Midian); and belied was Mûsa (Moses), but I granted respite to the disbelievers for a while, then I seized them, and how (terrible) was My Punishment (against their wrong-doing).
وَأَصْحَابُ مَدْيَنَ وَكُذِّبَ مُوسَى فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلْكَافِرِينَ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
Waas-habu madyana wakuththiba moosa faamlaytu lilkafireena thumma akhathtuhum fakayfa kana nakeeri
YUSUFALI: And the Companions of the Madyan People; and Moses was rejected (in the same way). But I granted respite to the Unbelievers, and (only) after that did I punish them: but how (terrible) was my rejection (of them)!
PICKTHAL: (And) the dwellers in Midian. And Moses was denied; but I indulged the disbelievers a long while, then I seized them, and how (terrible) was My abhorrence!
SHAKIR: As well as those of Madyan and Musa (too) was rejected, but I gave respite to the unbelievers, then did I overtake them, so how (severe) was My disapproval.
KHALIFA: And the dwellers of Midyan. Moses was also rejected. I led all those people on, then I called them to account; how (devastating) was My requital!
৪৫। কত জনপদকে আমি ধ্বংস করেছি যাদের অধিবাসীরা পাপে লিপ্ত ছিলো, তারা তাদের ঘরের ছাদসহ ধ্বংস স্তুপে পরিণত হয়েছিলো ২৮২৩। কত কূপ পরিত্যক্ত হয়েছিলো এবং কত সুদৃশ্য এবং মজবুত প্রাসাদও ! ২৮২৪।
২৮২৩। যে কোন ইমারত যখন ধবংস হয় প্রথমে তার ছাদ ধ্বসে পড়ে, পরে সম্পূর্ণ ইমারত ভেঙ্গে চূরে ধ্বংস স্তুপে পরিণত হয়। ঠিক সেরূপ আল্লাহ্র রোষে পতিত জনপদ সম্পূর্ণ ধবংসপ্রাপ্ত হয় এবং তা সম্পূর্ণরূপে ওলট পালট হয়ে যায়।
২৮২৪।
