সে পার্শ্ব পরিবর্তন করে বিতর্ক করে, যাতে আল্লাহর পথ থেকে বিভ্রান্ত করে দেয়। তার জন্যে দুনিয়াতে লাঞ্ছনা আছে এবং কেয়ামতের দিন আমি তাকে দহন-যন্ত্রণা আস্বাদন করাব।
Bending his neck in pride (far astray from the Path of Allâh), and leading (others) too (far) astray from the Path of Allâh. For him there is disgrace in this worldly life, and on the Day of Resurrection We shall make him taste the torment of burning (Fire).
ثَانِيَ عِطْفِهِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا خِزْيٌ وَنُذِيقُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ
Thaniya AAitfihi liyudilla AAan sabeeli Allahi lahu fee alddunya khizyun wanutheequhu yawma alqiyamati AAathaba alhareeqi
YUSUFALI: (Disdainfully) bending his side, in order to lead (men) astray from the Path of Allah: for him there is disgrace in this life, and on the Day of Judgment We shall make him taste the Penalty of burning (Fire).
PICKTHAL: Turning away in pride to beguile (men) from the way of Allah. For him in this world is ignominy, and on the Day of Resurrection We make him taste the doom of burning.
SHAKIR: Turning away haughtily that he may lead (others) astray from the way of Allah; for him is disgrace in this world, and on the day of resurrection We will make him taste the punishment of burning:
KHALIFA: Arrogantly he strives to divert the people from the path of GOD. He thus incurs humiliation in this life, and we commit him on the Day of Resurrection to the agony of burning.
০৯। [ অবজ্ঞাভরে ] ঘাড় বাঁকিয়ে, যেনো [ লোকদের ] আল্লাহ্র পথ থেকে বিপথে চালিত করতে পারে। ইহজীবনে তাদের জন্য আছে অসম্মান এবং শেষ বিচারের দিনে আমি তাদের জ্বলন্ত [ আগুনের ] স্বাদ আস্বাদ করাব ২৭৮০।
২৭৮০। অনেক তফসীরকারের মতে আয়াতটি আবু জহলের প্রতি প্রযোজ্য। কিন্তু এই আয়াতের বক্তব্য সার্বজনীন। সকল যুগেই আবু জহলের মত লোক সমাজে বিদ্যমান। আয়াত [ ২২ : ৩ ] এর বক্তব্য একই, এক্ষেত্রে আয়াতটির নাজেল হওয়া সম্বন্ধে বলা হয় যে, তা Nadhar ibn Harith এর জন্য প্রযোজ্য ছিলো। তবে এর আবেদন সার্বজনীন যুগ কাল অতিক্রান্ত।
