অতঃপর সে তাদের জন্য তৈরী করে বের করল একটি গো-বৎস, একটা দেহ, যার মধ্যে গরুর শব্দ ছিল। তারা বললঃ এটা তোমাদের উপাস্য এবং মূসার ও উপাস্য, অতঃপর মূসা ভুলে গেছে।
Then he took out (of the fire) for them a statue of a calf which seemed to low. They said: ”This is your ilâh (god), and the ilâh (god) of Mûsa (Moses), but [Mûsa (Moses)] has forgotten (his god).’”
فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَهُ خُوَارٌ فَقَالُوا هَذَا إِلَهُكُمْ وَإِلَهُ مُوسَى فَنَسِيَ
Faakhraja lahum AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun faqaloo hatha ilahukum wa-ilahu moosa fanasiya
YUSUFALI: “Then he brought out (of the fire) before the (people) the image of a calf: It seemed to low: so they said: This is your god, and the god of Moses, but (Moses) has forgotten!”
PICKTHAL: Then he produced for them a calf, of saffron hue, which gave forth a lowing sound. And they cried: This is your god and the god of Moses, but he hath forgotten.
SHAKIR: So he brought forth for them a calf, a (mere) body, which had a mooing sound, so they said: This is your god and the god of Musa, but he forgot.
KHALIFA: He produced for them a sculpted calf, complete with a calf’s sound. They said, “This is your god, and the god of Moses.” Thus, he forgot.
৮৮। অতঃপর সে লোকজনের সম্মুখে [ অগ্নিকুন্ড থেকে ] একটি বাছুর গরুর অবয়ব বের করলো, ২৬০৯। মনে হলো এটা হাম্বা রব করে ২৬১০। সুতারাং তারা বললো,” এটা তোমাদের উপাস্য এবং মুসারও উপাস্য , কিন্তু মুসা [ তা ] ভুলে গেছে ২৬১১। ”

২৬১১। ” কিন্তু মুসা তা ভুলে গেছে।” – অর্থাৎ মুসা ইসরাঈলীদের কথা এবং তাঁর উপাস্য গোবৎসের কথা ভুলে গেছে। কারণ মুসা বহুদিন হলো ইসরাঈলীদের ত্যাগ করে তূর পর্বতে গেছেন। সেখানে মুসা মিথ্যাই ঘুরে বেড়াচ্ছেন উপাস্যের সন্ধানে। তার সত্যিকারের উপাস্য আছে এখানে সোনার তৈরী গোবৎস। এরূপই একটি ভাষণ দিয়েছিলো সামিরী ও তার অনুসারীরা। কিন্তু তাদের এই প্ররোচনাকে কেউ-ই বাধা দেয় নাই। ইসরাঈলীরা সামগ্রিকভাবে সামিরীর এই বক্তব্যকে গ্রহণ করে। সুতারাং সে হিসেবে বলা চলে যে বক্তব্যটি সমগ্র ইসরাঈলীদের ছিলো।
