ফেরাউন বললঃ আমার অনুমতি দানের পূর্বেই? তোমরা কি তার প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করলে; দেখছি সেই তোমাদের প্রধান, সে তোমাদেরকে যাদু শিক্ষা দিয়েছে। অতএব আমি অবশ্যই তোমাদের হস্তপদ বিপরীত দিক থেকে কর্তন করব এবং আমি তোমাদেরকে খর্জুর বৃক্ষের কান্ডে শূলে চড়াব এবং তোমরা নিশ্চিত রূপেই জানতে পারবে আমাদের মধ্যে কার আযাব কঠোরতর এবং অধিক্ষণ স্থায়ী।
[Fir’aun (Pharaoh)] said: ”Believe you in him [Mûsa (Moses)] before I give you permission? Verily! He is your chief who taught you magic. So I will surely cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you on the trunks of date-palms, and you shall surely know which of us [I (Fir’aun Pharaoh) or the Lord of Mûsa (Moses) (Allâh)] can give the severe and more lasting torment.”
قَالَ آمَنتُمْ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ إِنَّهُ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ الَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ فَلَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ فِي جُذُوعِ النَّخْلِ وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ أَيُّنَا أَشَدُّ عَذَابًا وَأَبْقَى
Qala amantum lahu qabla an athana lakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu alssihra falaoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin walaosallibannakum fee juthooAAi alnnakhli walataAAlamunna ayyuna ashaddu AAathaban waabqa
YUSUFALI: (Pharaoh) said: “Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? Surely this must be your leader, who has taught you magic! be sure I will cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will have you crucified on trunks of palm-trees: so shall ye know for certain, which of us can give the more severe and the more lasting punishment!”
PICKTHAL: (Pharaoh) said: Ye put faith in him before I give you leave. Lo! he is your chief who taught you magic. Now surely I shall cut off your hands and your feet alternately, and I shall crucify you on the trunks of palm trees, and ye shall know for certain which of us hath sterner and more lasting punishment.
SHAKIR: (Firon) said: You believe in him before I give you leave; most surely he is the chief of you who taught you enchantment, therefore I will certainly cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will certainly crucify you on the trunks of the palm trees, and certainly you will come to know which of us is the more severe and the more abiding in chastising.
KHALIFA: He said, “Did you believe in him without my permission? He must be your chief; the one who taught you magic. I will surely sever your hands and feet on alternate sides. I will crucify you on the palm trunks. You will find out which of us can inflict the worst retribution, and who outlasts whom.”
৭১। [ফেরাউন ] বলেছিলো, ” অনুমতি দেয়ার পূর্বেই তোমরা তার [ মুসার ] প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করলে ? নিশ্চয়ই সেই তোমাদের গুরু, যে তোমাদের যাদু শিক্ষা দিয়েছে ২৫৯৩। নিশ্চিত থাক, আমি তোমাদের হাত ও পা বিপরীত দিক থেকে কেটে ফেলবো, এবং আমি তোমাদের খেজুর গাছের কান্ডে শূলবিদ্ধ করবই। তারপরে তোমরা নিশ্চিতভাবে জানবে, আমাদের মধ্যে কে কঠোরতম ও অধিক স্থায়ী শাস্তি দিতে পারে।”
২৫৯৩। ফেরাউন যাদুকরদের মুসার অনুসারীরূপে অভিযুক্ত করলো। তার ধারণা হলো মুসা যাদুকরদের বশীভূত করেছে এবং তাদের পরিচালিত করছে। সে প্রকৃত সত্যকে প্রত্যক্ষ করতে ছিলো অপারগ। এ ভাবেই মানুষের উদ্ধত্য দম্ভ অহংকার মানুষকে সত্য প্রত্যক্ষ করতে বাঁধার সৃষ্টি করে। যারা অহংকারী তাদের গর্ব ,অহংকার তাদের উদ্ধত ও দাম্ভিক করে তোলে। ফলে তারা প্রকৃত সত্যকে , আল্লাহ্র নিদর্শনকে উপলব্ধি করতে পারে না। কারণ ঔদ্ধত্য তাদের উপলব্ধির ক্ষমতাকে সঙ্কীর্ণ করে তোলে। এ ভাবেই তাদের সঙ্কীর্ণ দৃষ্টিতে সত্যের মহিমান্বিত রূপ ধরা পড়ে না। সত্যিকার অর্থে তারা অন্ধ ব্যক্তির ন্যায়। কারণ চতুরতা ও অহংকার তাদের সত্য পথ থেকে বহুদূরে নিক্ষিপ্ত করে।
উপদেশ : গর্ব ও অহংকার মানুষকে দাম্ভিক উদ্ধত করে তোলে, পরিণামে মানুষ সত্যকে প্রত্যক্ষ করার ক্ষমতা হারায়। ফলে সে হয় বিভ্রান্ত।
