তারা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত অন্যান্য ইলাহ গ্রহণ করেছে, যাতে তারা তাদের জন্যে সাহায্যকারী হয়।
And they have taken (for worship) âliha (gods) besides Allâh, that they might give them honour, power and glory (and also protect them from Allâh’s Punishment etc.).
وَاتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لِّيَكُونُوا لَهُمْ عِزًّا
Waittakhathoo min dooni Allahi alihatan liyakoonoo lahum AAizzan
YUSUFALI: And they have taken (for worship) gods other than Allah, to give them power and glory!
PICKTHAL: And they have chosen (other) gods beside Allah that they may be a power for them.
SHAKIR: And they have taken gods besides Allah, that they should be to them a source of strength;
KHALIFA: They worship beside GOD other gods that (they think) may be of help to them.
৮১। [ এবাদতের জন্য ] তারা আল্লাহ্ ব্যতীত অন্য উপাস্য গ্রহণ করে থাকে, যেনো তারা তাকে ক্ষমতা ও খ্যাতি দান করতে পারে ২৫২৫।
২৫২৫। “Izz” শব্দটির অর্থ উচ্চ শ্রেণী, ক্ষমতা, শক্তি, অন্যের উপরে আধিপত্য বিস্তারের ক্ষমতা , ইচ্ছাকে কার্যে পরিণত করার ক্ষমতা বা বিজয় গৌরব ইত্যাদি। “
