অতঃপর আমি তার দোয়া কবুল করেছিলাম, তাকে দান করেছিলাম ইয়াহইয়া এবং তার জন্যে তার স্ত্রীকে প্রসব যোগ্য করেছিলাম। তারা সৎকর্মে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ত, তারা আশা ও ভীতি সহকারে আমাকে ডাকত এবং তারা ছিল আমার কাছে বিনীত।
So We answered his call, and We bestowed upon him Yahya (John), and cured his wife (to bear a child) for him. Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us.
فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ يَحْيَى وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُ زَوْجَهُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا وَكَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِينَ
Faistajabna lahu wawahabna lahu yahya waaslahna lahu zawjahu innahum kanoo yusariAAoona fee alkhayrati wayadAAoonana raghaban warahaban wakanoo lana khashiAAeena
YUSUFALI: So We listened to him: and We granted him Yahya: We cured his wife’s (Barrenness) for him. These (three) were ever quick in emulation in good works; they used to call on Us with love and reverence, and humble themselves before Us.
PICKTHAL: Then We heard his prayer, and bestowed upon him John, and adjusted his wife (to bear a child) for him. Lo! they used to vie one with the other in good deeds, and they cried unto Us in longing and in fear, and were submissive unto Us.
SHAKIR: So We responded to him and gave him Yahya and made his wife fit for him; surely they used to hasten, one with another In deeds of goodness and to call upon Us, hoping and fearing and they were humble before Us.
KHALIFA: We responded to him and granted him John; we fixed his wife for him. That is because they used to hasten to work righteousness, and implored us in situations of joy, as well as fear. To us, they were reverent.
৯০। সুতারাং আমি তাঁর ডাকে সাড়া দিয়েছিলাম এবং ইয়াহ্ইয়াকে দান করেছিলাম। আমি তাঁর স্ত্রীর [ বন্ধ্যাত্ব ] আরোগ্য করেছিলাম ২৭৪৭। তারা [ তিনজন ] সৎ কাজে প্রতিযোগীতা করত। তারা আমাকে ভালোবাসা ও ভক্তি সহকারে ডাকতো , এবং নিজেদের আমার সামনে করতো বিনীত।
২৭৪৭। “Aslaha” – সংশোধন করে উন্নত করা। এখানে শব্দটি যোগ করা হয়েছে জাকারিয়ার স্ত্রীর সম্পর্কে। শব্দটির প্রয়োগ সম্পর্কে দুরকমের ব্যাখ্যা করা যায়। ১) তাঁর বন্ধ্যাত্ব দূর করে তাঁকে মাতৃত্ব ধারণের উপযোগী করা এবং ২) তাঁর আধ্যাত্মিক জগতের অন্ধকার দূর করে তাঁকে সমুন্নত করা হয়েছিলো মহামানব ইয়াহিয়ার [ John the Baptist ] মাতৃত্বের উপযোগী করার জন্য।
