প্রবৃত্তিং চ নিবৃত্তিং চ কার্যাকার্যে ভয়াভয়ে ।
বন্ধং মোক্ষং চ য়া বেত্তি বুদ্ধিঃ সা পার্থ সাত্ত্বিকী ॥ ১৮-৩০॥

কার্য = what ought to be done
অকার্যে = and what ought not to be done
ভয় = fear
অভয়ে = and fearlessness
বন্ধং = bondage
মোক্ষং = liberation

বেত্তি = knows
বুদ্ধিঃ = understanding
সা = that
পার্থ = O son of Pritha
সাত্ত্বিকী = in the mode of goodness.
