অদেশকালে য়দ্দানমপাত্রেভ্যশ্চ দীয়তে ।
অসত্কৃতমবজ্ঞাতং তত্তামসমুদাহৃতম্ ॥ ১৭-২২॥

অদেশ = at an unpurified place
কালে = and unpurified time
য়ত্ = that which
দানং = charity
অপাত্রেভ্যঃ = to unworthy persons
চ = also
দীয়তে = is given
অসত্কৃতং = without respect
অবজ্ঞাতং = without proper attention
তত্ = that
তামসং = in the mode of darkness
উদাহৃতং = is said to be.
