তমস্ত্বজ্ঞানজং বিদ্ধি মোহনং সর্বদেহিনাম্ ।
প্রমাদালস্যনিদ্রাভিস্তন্নিবধ্নাতি ভারত ॥ ১৪-৮॥

তমঃ = the mode of ignorance
তু = but
অজ্ঞানজং = produced of ignorance
বিদ্ধি = know
মোহনং = the delusion
সর্বদেহিনাং = of all embodied beings
প্রমাদ = with madness
অলস্য = indolence
নিদ্রাভিঃ = and sleep
তত্ = that
নিবধ্নাতি = binds
ভারত = O son of Bharata.
