শ্রীভগবানুবাচ ।
ইমং বিবস্বতে য়োগং প্রোক্তবানহমব্যয়ম্ ।
বিবস্বান্মনবে প্রাহ মনুরিক্ষ্বাকবেঽব্রবীত্ ॥ ৪-১॥

শ্রীভগবানুবাচ = the Supreme Personality of Godhead said
ইমং = this
বিবস্বতে = unto the sun-god
য়োগং = the science of one’s relationship to the Supreme
প্রোক্তবান্ = instructed
অহং = I
অব্যয়ং = imperishable
বিবস্বান্ = Vivasvan (the sun-god’s name)
মনবে = unto the father of mankind (of the name Vaivasvata)
প্রাহ = told
মনুঃ = the father of mankind
ইক্ষ্বাকবে = unto King Iksvaku
অব্রবীত্ = said.
