সক্তাঃ কর্মণ্যবিদ্বাংসো য়থা কুর্বন্তি ভারত ।
কুর্যাদ্বিদ্বাংস্তথাসক্তশ্চিকীর্ষুর্লোকসঙ্গ্রহম্ ॥ ৩-২৫॥

সক্তাঃ = being attached
কর্মণি = in prescribed duties
অবিদ্বাংসঃ = the ignorant
য়থা = as much as
কুর্বন্তি = they do
ভারত = O descendant of Bharata
কুর্যাত্ = must do
বিদ্বান্ = the learned
তথা = thus
অসক্তঃ = without attachment
চিকীর্ষুঃ = desiring to lead
লোকসঙ্গ্রহং = the people in general.
