য়দ্যদাচরতি শ্রেষ্ঠস্তত্তদেবেতরো জনঃ ।
স য়ত্প্রমাণং কুরুতে লোকস্তদনুবর্ততে ॥ ৩-২১॥

য়দ্যত্ = whatever
আচরতি = he does
শ্রেষ্ঠঃ = a respectable leader
তত্ = that
তত্ = and that alone
এব = certainly
ইতরঃ = common
জনঃ = person
সঃ = he
য়ত্ = whichever
প্রমাণং = example
কুরুতে = does perform
লোকাঃ = all the world
তত্ = that
অনুবর্ততে = follows in the footsteps.
